T’puram: Survey of India (SoI), the national nodal agency for geospatial data under department of science and technology, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Digital University of Kerala (DUK).The five-year MoU aims to promote academic and research collaboration in geo-informatics, AI, machine learning for automated feature extraction, geodesy, astronomy and related engineering disciplines. Under the agreement, SoI officials will have opportunities to pursue postgraduate and doctoral programmes at DUK, with provisions for joint supervision of research. The partnership also includes customized training programmes, expert lectures, collaborative research projects, co-authored publications, and joint participation in national and international initiatives.Students of DUK will benefit from internships, capstone projects and dissertation opportunities at SoI under joint mentorship. Both institutions will facilitate the shared use of research infrastructure, geospatial datasets, laboratories and library resources. TNN
