Lucknow: Three days after launch Lucknow traffic police’s ‘Sahbhagita’ initiative, 31 suggestions from residents helped identify traffic bottlenecks, road-safety concerns and possible solutions. Officers visited several spots and started working on measures to address the issues. After a minor glitch in QR code was fixed, several suggestions came in.One commuter suggested reducing the size of the traffic island on the road from Polytechnic Chauraha towards Lekhraj, which currently restricts movement to a single lane. According to the suggestion, making the island slightly smaller could create space for an additional lane and help clear traffic more quickly at the intersection. Traffic officials are examining the proposal on the ground to assess its feasibility and likely impact on traffic flow.DCP Traffic Raveena Tyagi, along with her team, has conducted spot inspections at locations flagged by citizens.Citizens can report problematic junctions, unsafe U-turns, pedestrian crossings, school-zone congestion, parking bottlenecks and other recurring issues through a bilingual Google Form.The traffic police has asked residents to provide the exact location, latitude and longitude, photographs and details of when and how the problem occurs. Citizens can also upload marked photographs, maps or sketches to explain the solution they are proposing.
