Sudarshan Chemical Industries has appointed Amit Deshpande as General Counsel, effective September 21, 2026. He will form part of the company’s senior management personnel.
Deshpande is an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has over 24 years of experience across company law, SEBI regulations, arbitration, statutory compliance, M&A, intellectual property, ethics and code of conduct, contract management, FEMA and legal due diligence.
Prior to joining Sudarshan Chemical, Deshpande was a Partner, M&A and Capital Markets at LegaLogic Consulting. Before that, he served for nearly 15 years as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Sterlite Technologies, a Vedanta Group company.
At Sterlite Technologies, he was part of the leadership team and worked on the company’s strategic transformation involving mergers, demergers, acquisitions and capital-raising initiatives. He also worked on governance architecture, board processes, enterprise risk and regulatory and litigation matters.
Earlier in his career, Deshpande held leadership roles at Tata AutoComp, Kirloskar Oil Engines and Vishay Components India.
