Srinagar, Aug 22: The approved subsidised electricity tariff rates for the financial year 2026–27 have been notified for different categories of consumers, including domestic, commercial, agricultural, industrial, government, electric vehicle charging stations, and traction supply.

According to the latest details, the tariff schedule specifies separate energy, fixed, and demand charges, wherever applicable.

Domestic consumers

For Below Poverty Line (BPL) consumers with consumption up to 30 units per month, the energy charge has been fixed at Rs 1.40 per kWh, along with a fixed charge of Rs 5 per kW per month.

For metered domestic connections, the tariff has been fixed at Rs 2.45 per kWh for consumption up to 200 units, Rs 4.20 per kWh for 201–400 units, and Rs 4.60 per kWh for consumption above 400 units. The fixed charge is Rs 10 per kW per month.

For unmetered domestic connections up to 2 kW, the charge is Rs 284 per month for every ¼ kW, while connections above 2 kW will be charged Rs 2,272 for 2 kW plus Rs 568 for every additional ¼ kW or part thereof.

Commercial consumers

For metered non-domestic connections, single-phase consumers up to 200 units per month will be charged Rs 3.75 per kWh, while consumption above 200 units will attract Rs 5.70 per kWh. Three-phase connections will be charged Rs 6.15 per kVAh.

The fixed charge has been fixed at Rs 75 per kW per month for single-phase and Rs 140 per kVA per month for three-phase connections.

Agricultural consumers

For metered agricultural connections up to 20 HP, the energy charge is Rs 1.05 per kWh, while connections above 20 HP will be charged Rs 6.30 per kWh. Fixed charges have been fixed at Rs 23 per HP per month up to 20 HP and Rs 47 per HP above 20 HP.

For unmetered agricultural connections, the charge is Rs 375 per HP per month up to 20 HP and Rs 2,048 per HP per month above 20 HP.

Industrial consumers

For LT industrial supply, the energy charge has been fixed at Rs 4.60 per kVAh with a fixed charge of Rs 63 per kVA per month.

For HT industrial supply at 11 kV, the energy charge is Rs 4.50 per kVAh, and the demand charge is Rs 184 per kVA per month.

For HT PIU connections, the energy charge is Rs 5.30 per kVAh at 11 kV and Rs 5.25 per kVAh at 33 kV, with a demand charge of Rs 236 per kVA per month.

Government and bulk supply

For general-purpose bulk supply at 11 kV, the energy charge has been fixed at Rs 5.90 per kVAh with a demand charge of Rs 250 per kVA per month.

Government departments, public street lighting, and LT/HT public water works have also been included in the tariff schedule. LT supply will attract an energy charge of Rs 8.30 per kVAh and a fixed charge of Rs 42 per kVA per month, while HT supply will have a fixed charge of Rs 110 per kVA per month.

Public street lighting under unmetered connections will be charged Rs 5,005 per kW per month.

EV charging stations and traction supply

Electric vehicle charging stations will attract an LT supply energy charge of Rs 7.00 per kVAh.

For traction supply at 11 kV, the energy charge has been fixed at Rs 5.70 per kVAh, with a demand charge of Rs 315 per kVA per month.

The notified tariff schedule will remain applicable for FY 2026–27 and covers different categories of electricity consumers with separate energy
