Handwara Sep 2: The Physical Education Department of Boys Higher Secondary School Qalamabad in North Kashmir’s Handwara organised a trekking event for Class 12 students, giving them a refreshing break from their routine classes.

The trek started from the school premises and concluded at Reshwari, a popular trekking point in Nowgam, Handwara. Students participated in the event with enthusiasm, accompanied by teachers who guided and facilitated them throughout the trek.

The teachers briefed the students about the importance of trekking and its role in providing physical and mental refreshment. The activity also gave students an opportunity to experience trekking firsthand and spend time in the natural surroundings.

Students appreciated the initiative and hailed the school administration for organising the event. They said the experience would remain a memorable part of their school life.

Iqra Mohi-ud-din, a Class 12 student, said such activities should be organised regularly. “We need a mental break from our studies, and trekking gives us that much-needed refreshment,” she said, expressing hope that more such events would be held in the future.

A teacher accompanying the students said the event was organised to provide them with firsthand experience of trekking. He said the school would make efforts to provide students with more opportunities to participate in similar activities in the future.

The students returned with positive memories, describing the trek as an enjoyable experience beyond the classroom.
