Bengaluru: A 24-year-old graduate who was undergoing a course for banking and insurance-related exams at a private institute in Amruthahalli allegedly killed himself in his hostel room Monday evening.The deceased has been identified as Chinnu Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh. Based on the preliminary investigation, police said that Kumar was studying at the institute and had appeared for the exam four times and not cleared them. It appears that he was depressed over his academics, and hence, he hanged himself in the room.His friends, who noticed him hanging, immediately untied the noose and subsequently alerted the hostel warden. Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital, which refused to examine him due to a lack of facilities. He was then taken to another hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.A senior officer said the incident happened between 4pm and 4.30pm. The information was received at the police station around 6.30pm. His parents have been contacted. “As of now, we haven’t found any death note,” police said.The students at the institute alleged that Kumar killed himself due to pressure and harassment by the management.
