Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that state govt stopped LPG supply to industries in Goa, and the supply will be restored soon.He said that sufficient LPG cylinder quota is available in the state for domestic consumers, and there is no need to panic. Sawant said that LPG dealers will start taking online bookings to refill the LPG cylinder. He said that there will be an 80% shortage in the supply of commercial LPG cylinders.“Within the next week, all the issues related to LPG cylinders for domestic consumers will be resolved and state govt will also sort out issues related to LPG cylinder supply to commercial consumers,” the CM said.Sawant held a high-level committee meeting to review the availability of LPG cylinders in the state.The meeting was attended by chief secretary V Candavelou, representatives of the oil marketing companies and senior officials of the state.He said that without online booking, and before completing a mandatory waiting period of 25 days after receiving a cylinder, nobody will get another LPG cylinder for domestic use. “People should not go to the dealers without booking,” Sawant said. “Don’t store LPG cylinders at home. We have sufficient quota available in the state.”The CM said that both central and state govts are monitoring LPG cylinder availability.He said that the dealers will take an average quota supplied to commercial consumers in the last three months, and accordingly, commercial LPG cylinders will be delivered to commercial consumers every day.Sawant urged domestic consumers to shift from LPG cylinders to piped natural gas (PNG) wherever it is available. He said that a taluka nodal officer was appointed and told to take daily reports from LPG dealers to know the cylinder availability in the state.Police are also monitoring the situation, the CM said.
