Ahead of elections to the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), chief commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to strictly follow the ward boundaries as notified in the official govt notification, warning that no deviations will be permitted.The instructions came during a review meeting at GBA headquarters on the standard operating procedure (SOP) for verifying the draft electoral rolls of the five city corporations. To ensure full alignment with the notified ward descriptions, Rao instructed the IT department to update and correct digital ward maps. He also emphasised that, in the long term, ward boundary verification should be carried out through a systematic survey process.
