Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday extended its interim order staying the operation of a directive passed by the then Sambhal CJM, which had ordered the registration of an FIR against several police personnel, including then Sambhal circle officer Anuj Kumar Chaudhar, reports Rajesh Kumar Pandey.The CJM had directed the registration of an FIR on an application filed by a Sambhal resident, Yameen, who alleged that police personnel, including Anuj Chaudhary, opened indiscriminate fire in Nov 2024, causing injuries to his son. The order extending the stay was passed by Justice Samit Gopal. When the matter was taken up on Tuesday, counsel for Yameen filed a counter affidavit. The court granted time to the petitioner’s counsel to file a reply and fixed April 21 as the next date of hearing. Earlier, Justice Samit Gopal, while hearing a petition filed by Anuj Chaudhary, had stayed the operation of the CJM’s order and fixed March 24 as the next date of hearing.
