T’puram: The state govt has felicitated Netrasemi, a deep-tech semiconductor startup incubated at TrEST Research Park in the capital, for its pioneering contribution to India’s semiconductor and artificial intelligence ecosystem. The recognition was presented by chief minister V D Satheesan and higher education minister Roji M John.The honour comes after Netrasemi achieved a major milestone by developing the A2000 and R1000, India’s first indigenous Edge AI System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. The company has successfully completed silicon validation of both chips and has commenced customer trials, bringing the products a step closer to commercial deployment.Designed for a broad spectrum of Edge AI applications, the chips are expected to power intelligent surveillance systems, robotics, industrial automation, drones and smart vision platforms. The integrated solutions combine artificial intelligence processing, computer vision, image signal processing and advanced security features into a single high-performance semiconductor platform.Founded by Jyothis Indirabhai, Deepa Geetha, Sreejith Varma and Hariprasad C, Netrasemi has grown into one of India’s fabless semiconductor companies focused on indigenous chip technologies. The startup has spent the past five years at TrEST Research Park, where much of the research and development behind the A2000, R1000 and other innovations was carried out, highlighting Kerala’s growing role in deep-tech research and innovation.The company currently employs more than 100 highly skilled engineers at the TrEST campus, contributing significantly to the state’s knowledge economy while creating high-value employment opportunities in the semiconductor sector. Netrasemi has also attracted investments from leading technology investors to accelerate indigenous chip development and strengthen India’s semiconductor value chain.Further underscoring its technological credentials, Netrasemi is the only startup in India selected under both the Union govt’s Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme and the Chips to Startup (C2S) Programme. State leaders said the company’s achievement reflects the state’s commitment to fostering innovation through collaboration between industry, academia and research institutions, while advancing India’s vision of technological self-reliance and global leadership in semiconductor innovation.
