Keir Starmer has said he will “fight” to remain as prime minister should there be a Labour leadership battle.
He told the BBC’s Chris Mason that he felt a sense of “deep sense of duty” to remain in his post, saying his position on the matter was “not vanity, not stubbornness”.
His comments came after two government defence ministers resigned yesterday, citing issues with the defence investment plan (DIP) as the reason.
