Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin said on Wednesday that opposition parties were trying to spread rumours that there were differences within the DMK-led alliance, but cadres should ignore such misinformation and work unitedly for victory.Stalin wrote a letter to his party cadres saying that opposition parties were disappointed after the DMK alliance stood strong without any fissure and hence were spreading rumours. “Some are deliberately spreading imaginary criticisms about our seat-sharing to create confusion and weaken the alliance. Cadres must not believe such rumours,” Stalin said.Stressing the importance of allies, he said their contribution has been vital in strengthening the secular progressive front. “Our political friends are part of our collective strength. The constituencies allotted to them must be treated as our own, and we should work wholeheartedly for their success,” he said. Stalin noted that the final seat-sharing arrangements were arrived at after detailed consultations. “Every party in the alliance sought constituencies based on its strength, and we have resolved the issue through mutual understanding and multiple rounds of discussions,” Stalin said.He also underlined the need for coordinated grassroots campaigning in the coming weeks.“If we remain united and work tirelessly, a sweeping victory for the DMK-led alliance is certain,” Stalin added.Meanwhile, VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan wrote a letter to Stalin insisting that he allow MNM to contest in its own symbol in the upcoming assembly election. “If alliance parties wish to contest in the symbol of parties leading the alliance, it is of great help to them, but forcing them to contest in their symbol is not acceptable,” Thirumavalavan said.
