Krishnagiri: Chief minister M K Stalin‘s launched a full throttle attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accusing him of misusing govt platforms for political purposes, pointing to his televised ‘address to the nation’ delivered with the national flag backdrop. “It was not a Prime Minister’s address, it was a BJP leader’s campaign speech,” he charged and called it a violation of model code of conduct in his election rally at Hosur where he shared the stage with AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge. He said Modi’s attempt to push the delimitation bill had backfired, igniting anger in southern states. “He thought it would pass easily, but it boomeranged. The NDA’s chapter has been closed on April 17,” Stalin said adding that BJP’s influence in the parliament has been ‘shaken.’ Stalin said the assembly election was about safeguarding Tamil Nadu‘s rights and identity. “BJP is a destructive force. If it enters TN, neither the state nor regional parties will survive. Sangh forces inside in TN means total destruction of the state’s secular fabric,” he said. He urged voters to deliver more than 200 seats to the DMK-led alliance to protect the state from what he described as “Sangh infiltration.” Stalin also accused the centre of betraying Hosur’s aspirations by ‘blocking’ the establishment of an international airport, despite the region’s rapid industrial growth.Training his guns on AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, Stalin said the opposition leader was ‘unfit’ to govern the state. Recalling the statement by EPS that he got to know about 2018 Thoothukudi police firing deaths only through television, Stalin said EPS was “disgrace” to TN.Concluding his speech, Stalin said only the Dravidian Model could protect Tamil Nadu from BJP’s “destructive politics” and AIADMK’s “ineffective leadership.”
