Anantnag, Sep 2: Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure on Wednesday chaired an operations-cum-crime review meeting at the District Police Office to assess the security situation and review the progress of ongoing investigations.

The meeting was attended by ASP North Camp Ashmuqam Rameez Raja, all SDPOs, SHOs and in-charges of police posts.

In a statement, during the meeting, Nagpure reviewed the status of registered cases, pending investigations, preventive measures and the overall law and order situation. He directed officers to ensure timely and professional investigations, closely monitor pending cases and strictly adhere to established procedures.

The SSP laid particular emphasis on cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, directing officers to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking and peddling.

He called for stringent action against drug suppliers, peddlers and repeat offenders, besides effective investigation and timely completion of legal proceedings. Officers were also directed to trace financial networks and properties linked to drug trafficking wherever applicable.

Nagpure further stressed the need to strengthen preventive policing, intensify beat policing and take prompt action against anti-social and criminal elements. He also directed officers to ensure speedy redressal of public grievances and maintain accountability at every level.

The SSP called for a proactive and vigilant approach to maintaining peace, security and public order across Anantnag district.
