Prayagraj: Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) hospital opened its new govt medicine distribution centre on Thursday, on the first day of Shrawan. With the new facilty, patients will now have access to a larger and more accessible govt medicine distribution centre.The new centre was inaugurated by Motilal Nehru Medical College principal Prof AK Verma, vice-principal Dr Mohit Jain and SRN hospital chief medical superintendent Prof Neelam Singh.According to hospital officials, the earlier medicine distribution centre had limited space, resulting in overcrowding and long queues. Patients and their attendants often faced difficulties in reaching the counters and had to wait for extended periods, particularly during peak hours.Prof Singh said the new facility had been developed in view of the steadily rising number of patients arriving at the hospital every day. The expanded centre includes a larger waiting area, an improved queue management system and easier access to medicine counters. Elderly people, differently abled individuals and critically ill patients will also be able to reach the facility more conveniently.The relocation of the centre is part of a broader effort by the hospital administration to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve patient services. “The objective of the hospital administration is not only to provide quality treatment but also to ensure that patients and their attendants receive better facilities and a more dignified experience at every stage of treatment,” said Prof Singh.
