Times News NetworkKanpur: Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre (SPSEC) defeated DPS Azad Nagar by 3-0 in the final and won the boys’ team title of KSS Table Tennis (Zone A) championship which concluded at Shri Sanatan Dharm Education Centre here on Tuesday.DPS Azad Nagar won the girls’ team title when they outplayed SPSEC by 3-1 in the final. Chintels School and GD Goenka School’s girl team stood at second and third place respectively. Among boys, Jugal Devi Saraswati Vidya Mandir and Chintels School got second and third place respectively.Ashutosh Gupta of SPSEC defeated the challenge of Vihan of Chintels School by 11-8, 11-9, 12-10 and won the boys’ singles title. Kavi Shah (SPSEC) outplayed Abana Layal (DPS) in the well-contested final by 11-8, 9-11, 12-10 and 14-12 and cornered the girls’ title.After the finals, chief guest Sanjeev Pathak, chairman UP Table Tennis Association gave away the prizes to the winner and runner-up teams in presence of host school director Shobha Das, principal Smita Trivedi, Sanjay Tandon, Sunil Singh and others.………………Selection trials: Selection trials of district and divisional level boxing teams will be held at the Green Park stadium on July 23 and July 24 respectively at 12 noon. Players who were born between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011 will be eligible for the trials. Aspirants should bring Aadhar card and original birth certificate issued by the Nagar Nigam and their photocopies at the time of the trial.
