Varanasi: Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that by fielding his uncle Ram Gopal Yadav and capitalist Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani for Rajya Sabha elections held recently, party president Akhilesh Yadav has proved that for SP, PDA stands for ‘Paraya Dhan Apna’.Referring to Rajya Sabha poll results, Yogi said BJP won eight of the 10 seats and gave representation to different sections of society.“In contrast, the SP ignored its own claims of standing for backward classes, Dalits and minorities. One SP seat went to Ram Gopal Yadav, while the other was given to a wealthy candidate instead of any Dalit or a Muslim candidate,” Yogi said.Addressing a public meeting at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University grounds, Yogi urged voters of MLC (teachers and graduates) constituencies to remain cautious of SP, a party that makes false promises.“Earlier, PDA stood for ‘Parivar Development Authority’. Now, it also means ‘Paraya Dhan Apna’. The slogan is only a deception, as the party’s Rajya Sabha nominations proved again that power and family interests remain SP’s real priority,” Yogi said.He also attacked the previous SP govt over recruitment and education. He alleged that under SP govt, recruitment boards and commissions were controlled by the ‘Saifai syndicate’, and jobs were available only to those linked to the family network.Recalling the functioning of commissions during SP regime, Yogi alleged that undeserving people were appointed to key posts and recruitment processes were compromised.“The double engine govt distributed appointment letters to 9.5 lakh youths in nine and a half years. We will also recruit one lakh more candidates in the next six months. Results for 32,000 UP Police posts have been declared, and 42,000 home guards will soon receive appointment letters,” he said.Yogi said that 1.6 lakh posts of basic and secondary teachers were filled after 2017, and recruitment was being conducted with transparency.“Teachers and graduates are alert guardians of society, while the SP and education are like two banks of a river that never meet,” said Yogi.“Earlier, Uttar Pradesh faced lawlessness, mafia rule and curfews, which discouraged investment,” he added.
