Gurgaon: A 37-year-old man who had gone to buy tiles for his under-construction house died after a speeding car went out of control, hit multiple vehicles and ploughed into the showroom in Nuh on Wednesday evening.The deceased, Kapil, had gone to the tile showroom with his brother-in-law Pradeep, who suffered minor injuries in the incident. The driver of the car, who was also injured, was taken to a hospital by locals. Police are yet to take him into custody.The accident took place near the Chharoda bus stand on Nuh road under Taoru Sadar police station area. Police said the car was speeding at the time of the incident and the driver lost control.The car veered off the road and crashed into the premises of the tile showroom, where customers and employees were present.The impact damaged several vehicles and triggered panic among shoppers and passersby.The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at the showroom, and the footage has been shared widely on social media. In the video, a car, at high speed, can be seen ramming into several vehicles before ploughing into the showroom while several passersby try to avoid being hit. However, the car hits one man and he is thrown several feet into the air due to the impact.“Several people were injured by the speeding car and vehicles parked outside the showroom were badly damaged,” a police officer said.The injured were rushed to Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Medical College in Nalhar by locals and police teams.During treatment, doctors declared Kapil dead.He was a resident of Baharampur village and worked as a labourer. Members of his family said he was the sole breadwinner of his family. He is survived by his wife and three young children.Taoru Sadar SHO Rajesh Kumar said, “We have seized the car that hit Kapil and will soon arrest the driver.”Investigators are examining the CCTV footage from the area to establish the sequence of events and determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
