Gurgaon: A 38-year-old flower shop owner was found dead inside his shop near Sikanderpur Metro Station on Wednesday. A day later, a fish vendor was arrested in connection with the murder, with cops now probing whether others were involved in the attack.The victim, Sanjay, was found with visible injuries on his head and hand by another florist, who alerted police.Sanjay, originally from East Champaran in Bihar, had been running Khushi Florist near G-Town Wine Shop in DLF Phase I for nearly a decade. He lived nearby, while his wife and two children live in Bihar.Family members claimed that Sanjay and the accused, Rajiv Das (40) from Bihar’s Madhubani, allegedly had an argument on Tuesday night that escalated into a violent assault.The murder came to light around 9 am on Wednesday when Deepak Yadav, who owns a nearby shop, received a phone call from Raja, Sanjay’s brother, asking him to check on him. When Deepak reached the shop, he found Sanjay lying in a pool of blood with several injuries.Deepak dialled 112, and a team from DLF Phase I police station rushed to the spot. Cops recovered a wooden stick suspected to have been used in the assault. A case was registered under Section 103(1) of BNS at DLF Phase I police station.Cops are now questioning Rajiv to establish the exact motive behind the murder and determine whether others were involved in the crime.“Further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation, and additional arrests cannot be ruled out if evidence points to the involvement of other suspects,” Sandeep Turan, police spokesperson, said.
