Vadodara: A three-year-old boy was killed after a speeding car ran over him in a residential colony on New VIP Road in the city. The incident occurred on Monday night when Jay Solanki was playing near the gate of the housing colony, police said.According to police, Vipul Maachi, who stays in the same colony, was driving the car and had failed to spot the boy. He suffered grievous injuries on his head and died on the spot. Bapod police have registered a case against Maachi, who is on the run.This is the second such incident in the city in the last one month. On Aug 5, a three-year-old boy was mowed down by a car in Jamnabai Hospital compound. The victim, Nived Anjari, was the son of a labourer and was playing in the parking lot of the hospital. Gudiya Sinha, who was driving her car, hit the child after failing to spot him and he died on the spot.
