Kanpur: Apna Dal (S) national president and Union minister of state Anupriya Patel on Saturday accused Samajwadi Party and Congress of seeking power through lies and deception, and urged voters to re-elect Ghatampur MLA Saroj Kureel in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.Addressing a party meeting at Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janata Mahavidyalaya ground in Ghatampur, Patel said SP claimed to support backward classes but never worked for their benefit.Patel also claimed the caste-based census was initiated following a demand by Apna Dal (S). She asked people to remain cautious of SP and Congress, saying backward classes and Dalits had no value in those parties.Thanking people for attending the event despite continuous rain, Patel described the turnout as a sign of public affection. She said this support had helped Apna Dal emerge as Uttar Pradesh’s third-largest political force.
