JAISALMER: Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command, visited the Konark Corps to review its operational preparedness and combat readiness along the strategically important Western Front. During the visit, the Army Commander was given a comprehensive briefing on the formation’s operational readiness, ongoing infrastructure development, and capability enhancement initiatives aimed at strengthening the Indian Army‘s preparedness in the desert sector. Senior military commanders briefed him on various measures taken to maintain a high level of operational efficiency and rapid response capability in the region. As part of the visit, Lt Gen Pushkar witnessed demonstrations of advanced military technologies, including a range of drones, specialised weapon systems, and cutting-edge combat platforms. The demonstrations showcased the Konark Corps’ growing emphasis on integrating emerging technologies into military operations, reflecting the Indian Army’s commitment to technological advancement, modernisation, and future-ready warfare capabilities. The Army Commander also visited the Additive Manufacturing Hub, where he was briefed on the use of advanced manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, to produce mission-critical components and equipment. The facility represents a significant step towards improving self-reliance, reducing logistical delays, and ensuring the rapid availability of essential spares and customised solutions for operational requirements. Lt Gen Pushkar praised the Konark Corps for maintaining a high state of battle readiness and commended the formation’s continued focus on innovation, professionalism, and operational excellence. He also praised the officers and troops for their dedication, commitment, and efforts to strengthen India’s defence capabilities in the strategically sensitive western sector. The Army Commander also acknowledged the Corps’ initiatives to promote Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) by adopting indigenous technologies and encouraging innovation to enhance operational effectiveness. He emphasised that technological advancement, coupled with rigorous training and high professional standards, remains essential to meeting emerging security challenges. The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to continuously upgrading its operational capabilities through modern technology, indigenous innovation, and infrastructure development. It also highlighted the Konark Corps’ readiness to respond effectively to any operational contingency along the Western Front while maintaining the highest standards of preparedness, professionalism, and combat effectiveness.
