Ahmedabad: The Gujarat govt’s education department has appointed Narsin L Pandya, principal of Somnath Sanskrit College, as in charge vice-chancellor of Shree Somnath Sanskrit University, Veraval.
Pandya’s appointment comes at a time when the university requires continuity in leadership and smooth functioning of its day-to-day affairs.
Shree Somnath Sanskrit University in Gir Somnath district, is a state university dedicated to higher education, teaching and research in Sanskrit and related traditional disciplines. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in Sanskrit and allied subjects.
The appointment of an in charge VC is expected to ensure that the university’s academic activities, examinations, admissions, administrative decisions and other ongoing processes continue without disruption.
Pandya has been assigned the responsibility until a regular VC is appointed.
