Hisar: A 45-year-old contractor was shot dead after two to three unidentified youths allegedly entered a solar plant near Jamal village in Sirsa and opened fire on him on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, identified as Subhash Chandra of Jamal, suffered multiple bullet injuries to his back.According to the preliminary investigation, Subhash was sitting inside the plant with a business partner around 1.30pm when three youths arrived and allegedly fired several rounds at him. His partner reportedly fled the spot, while the assailants escaped.Plant workers rushed Subhash to Civil Hospital, Sirsa, where doctors declared him dead.Police said a dispute over financial transactions with one of Subhash’s business partners had emerged during the initial probe. Investigators are examining the nature of the dispute and trying to identify those involved. They are also checking Subhash’s previous criminal record.Subhash was working as a contractor at a solar plant of Hexa Sun Energy Pvt Ltd being developed near the Rajasthan border. He had returned to Jamal around a year ago after living outside the village. He was unmarried and the only brother of four sisters. His father, Bahadur Singh, is a farmer.Nathusari Chopta SHO Pramod Kumar and Jamal police post in-charge Ram Kumar reached the spot with a police team and began investigations.Police said the family had been informed but no complaint had been received from relatives till the time of filing the report. The body was sent for post-mortem and further action will follow based on the complaint and investigation.
