JAISALMER: The Sadar Police Station in Barmer district has successfully solved a blind murder case that occurred two weeks ago. A social media influencer woman and her lover have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband over an extramarital affair. The woman is quite active on social media and has around 42,000 followers on Instagram.According to police, the woman and her lover conspired to eliminate her husband due to their ongoing relationship The victim’s body was found floating in a water tank on June 4. Following an intensive investigation, police arrested the accused wife and her lover. The woman has been sent to judicial custody, while her lover has been remanded to two days of police custody for further interrogation.Barmer District Superintendent of Police Choonaram Jat stated that a special team from Sadar Police Station and the Circle Office cracked the case within a few days using technical evidence. The investigation led to the arrest of the deceased’s wife and her alleged lover.The case came to light when complainant Mahesharam Bhil, a resident of Garal and brother of the deceased, filed a report on June 4 stating that his brother Tejaram’s body had been found floating in a water tank containing about three to four feet of water near Nohkhra-Malpura Phanta in the jurisdiction of Hukmaniyon Ki Dhani.Station House Officer Kartar Singh immediately registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation. During the initial inspection of the crime scene, witness statements, and intelligence inputs, police developed strong suspicion regarding the role of the deceased’s wife and one of her associates. As evidence mounted, Mahesharam filed a formal murder complaint on June 15 against his sister-in-law Netal Devi, her lover Guman Singh, and another individual named Nimbaram.Considering the seriousness of the case, Additional Superintendent of Police Nitesh Arya supervised the investigation, while Circle Officer Ramesh Kumar Sharma coordinated swift action. Police subsequently arrested the main accused, Guman Singh, son of Anop Singh Rajput, a resident of Mithra/Mahabar, and Netal Devi, wife of Tejaram Bhil and a resident of Garal.During interrogation, police uncovered a shocking sequence of events. Tejaram worked as a laborer in Sutakhoi, Jalore. While there, he learned about the alleged illicit relationship between his wife Netal Devi and Guman Singh Rajput. Upon returning home, Tejaram confronted his wife, leading to a major dispute. The conflict escalated to the point that Netal Devi left home with her children and moved to Barmer.Later, Tejaram traveled to Barmer to persuade his wife to return and to question Guman Singh about the relationship. Another heated argument broke out among the three. According to police, Guman Singh and Netal Devi then decided to eliminate Tejaram. They allegedly murdered him and disposed of his body in a secluded water tank belonging to Hemaram Jat in an attempt to destroy evidence before fleeing the scene.Police investigations further revealed that Netal Devi is the mother of four children and was highly active on social media. She reportedly met Guman Singh through social media platforms. Since she frequently traveled in his taxi, the two became close and eventually developed a long-term relationship.Tejaram worked at construction sites and spent most of his time in Chitalwana, Jalore. During this period, he became aware of the relationship between his wife and Guman Singh. The issue often led to arguments between the couple, with Tejaram repeatedly asking his wife to stay away from Guman Singh.Preliminary investigation and questioning indicate that Netal Devi, along with her lover Guman Singh, allegedly planned the murder to get rid of her husband and continue their relationship without opposition.
