Adhikari said BJP will win the Nandigram seat by a record margin of over a lakh votes. Addressing a public rally before Hasirani Rath filed her nomination papers in Haldia on Tuesday, the CM said Chandranath Rath was murdered by supari killers because he had assisted him (Adhikari was the leader of the opposition then).

Rath said: “The party has selected me as candidate. Most of the work will be completed by our chief minister and I will do the work till the last drop of my blood. Our party’s target is to win by an over one lakh margin…I don’t think there will be any competition. Everyone in the BJP has started working and people are with BJP… Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is the guardian of our family”.
“I urge the people of Nandigram to support me. At the height of the Trinamool rule, Adhikari defeated former CM Mamata Banerjee from Nandigram and was elected MLA. He always worked for the people of Nandigram,” she said.
Speaking about Chandranath Rath’s murder, Hasirani said the death has left a huge vacuum in her. “CBI is conducting the probe and a chargesheet has been filed.” She alleged the involvement of the ‘Bhaipo Gang’ in her son’s murder.
Infact, on Tuesday, Adhikari spoke about the alleged involvement of “Bhaipo-gang” which gave supari of Rs 2 crore to kill Chandranath Rath. He alleged that certain call records were tracked from Diamond Harbour.Also read: Vijay’s TVK names candidates for crucial October 6 Tamil Nadu bypolls
“Already seven persons have been arrested by CBI. The culprits will be hanged,” CM claimed.
Adhikari said, “Hasirani is a long time BJP worker and has been party Panchayat Samiti Karmadakhya for ten years. Now, she is a member of the BJP’s organisational district.”
