Dumka: With vice-chancellor of state-run Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU), Kunul Kandir, out of the state for treatment for the past few days, the university management has urged the governor to make alternative arrangements to ensure smooth administrative works.SKMU public relations officer Deepak Kumar in a press communique on Friday night informed that the VC was initially shifted to a private hospital in Ranchi following some health complications on Feb 24. “Later, she was airlifted to Hyderabad on Feb 26 for advanced care,” he said.The VC’s sudden illness has disrupted the university’s financial and administrative operations, said officials, urging the Lok Bhavan to make ad hoc arrangements.SKMU registrar Rajiv Ranjan Sharma said a meeting of key office-bearers was held under the chairmanship of DSW Jaynendra Yadav to ensure smooth daily operations and decide on proceeding with scheduled examinations and essential student-related activities.The pro-VC’s position is also vacant since the completion of the tenure of Bimal Kumar Singh.Sharma further stated that regular health updates on the VC are being sent to the governor’s office, and the university administration is awaiting further instructions.
