Hyderabad: With the state govt set to announce a successor to DGP B Shivadhar Reddy any day, six senior IPS officers were on Wednesday promoted to the rank of director general of police, taking the total number of DGP-rank officers in Telangana to 11. Chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao issued the orders, elevating officers from the 1995 and 1996 batches. The list includes Hyderabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar, Greyhounds chief and former intelligence head Anil Kumar, Anti-Corruption Bureau director general and CID chief Charu Sinha, additional DGP (law and order) Mahesh Bhagwat, additional DGP (home guards) Swati Lakra, and additional DGP (technical services) VV Srinivasa Rao.“Consequent on empanelment order, these IPS officers are hereby promoted to the rank of DGP on their promotion. They are continued in the same post,” the chief secretary said. The promotions follow deliberations by a committee convened earlier this week to decide on the elevation of officers from the two batches.
