Vadodara:Dahod police on Wednesday arrested six persons for allegedly assaulting a policeman after Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) was seized at Chharchhoda village of Garbada taluka in Dahod district on Monday.According to police, a Jesawada police team led by ASI Siraj Sheikh went to Chharchhoda village after receiving inputs about absconding accused. Though no wanted persons were found, police seized beer cans and whisky bottles found in a bag at the spot. One Naval Bhabhor, who was present there, claimed ownership of the liquor. Soon after, one Kanti Bhabhor allegedly arrived and scuffled with Sheikh.As the team returned to Jesawada with the seized liquor, Kanti’s son Sarul allegedly intercepted the patrol vehicle. A group gathered and allegedly manhandled Sheikh, tearing his shirt. Other policemen intervened and rescued him. Police arrested six persons — Kanti, Sarul and Naval Bhabhor, along with Satish, Manjula and Shanta Bhabhor — in connection with the assault. Further investigation is on.
