Pune: A case of abduction, assault and extortion against three 19-year-old men and three minor boys between 16 and 17 years of age was registered by the Yewalewadi police on Saturday for allegedly abducting and assaulting a 20-year-old food delivery agent late on Friday near Mitra Mandal Chowk to settle an old score.Police constable Lavesh Shinde of Yewalewadi police station lodged the complaint against the accused who knew the victim. Last week, the delivery agent and his friends had beaten up one of the suspects over a trivial reason. The suspects planned a revenge attack and placed an order for food on a delivery app on Friday evening, knowing that the victim would be assigned to deliver it. The victim picked up the parcel from Gokulnagar on Katraj-Kondhwa Road and reached Mitra Mandal Chowk to deliver it.His motorcycle was intercepted by the assailants at the junction and they forcibly took him to an isolated spot, where they beat him up, took away his cellphone worth Rs 20,000 and the keys to his bike before leaving him at the spot. The victim, who was injured on his chest and head after the beating with a blunt object, later approached the police.
