Jhansi: In a major boost to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bundelkhand, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has announced that it will soon open a branch in Jhansi.The announcement was made during the annual general meeting of the Jhansi district unit of Laghu Udyog Bharati, a national organisation dedicated to promoting MSMEs.The meeting was attended by entrepreneurs, industry representatives and officials and was presided over by Laghu Udyog Bharati district president Rajeev Babbar.Additional superintendent of Police (ASP) Preeti Singh attended as the chief guest, while SIDBI general manager Jay Kumar Gupta was the special guest.Addressing the gathering, Gupta said the proposed SIDBI branch would make institutional finance more accessible to entrepreneurs in Jhansi and the wider Bundelkhand region.Gupta, along with SIDBI deputy general manager S. Srinivasan, also briefed participants on various loan and financial assistance schemes available for small businesses.He also called upon members to participate in the MSME Expo scheduled to be held in New Delhi next month.Speaking on the occasion, ASP Preeti Singh assured industrialists and traders of the administration’s full support in ensuring a secure business environment.The meeting concluded with discussions on strengthening industry-government coordination and expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs across the region.
