Ganderbal/Rajouri, Sep 13: Three persons were injured after being attacked by stray dogs in the Dursuma area of Ganderbal district in Central Kashmir, while a separate tragedy in Rajouri’s Kalakote claimed the lives of two minor sisters in a suspected snakebite incident.

Reports said the three persons were attacked by stray dogs in Dursuma, following which they were shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment. The injured are reportedly undergoing medical care.

Locals expressed concern over the growing presence of stray dogs in the area, saying that dog packs are frequently seen roaming across different parts of Ganderbal, particularly during the morning and evening hours.

Residents have urged the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to address the issue and prevent further incidents.

Meanwhile, in a separate tragic incident in Rajouri district, two minor sisters, aged five and three, died after a snake reportedly bit them while they were sleeping with their family at Manma Barmari village in the Kalakote subdivision.

The sisters were taken to hospital for treatment; however, they could not be saved.

 

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
