Bhubaneswar: The Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE) 2024 for recruitment of sub-inspectors (SIs), which was cancelled last year due to an alleged question paper leak, will be completed by Oct this year, Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) chairperson Rashmi Ranjan Swain said on Wednesday.Work on conducting the exam has already started, he informed, adding that the mode of the exam will be decided in due course.Swain said there will be no change in the number of applicants eligible for the recruitment process. The exam pattern and syllabus will also remain unchanged, he said. “Candidates who were deprived of the opportunity to appear for the exam due to the question paper leak will be allowed to take the test. Those who have crossed the age limit in the meantime will also remain eligible to appear,” Swain said.Close to 1.53 lakh candidates had applied for 933 SI posts under various categories, but the exam got cancelled due to question paper leak.Swain said the state govt is committed to conducting a fair, transparent and error-free exam.
