The case involved the electrocution of a child and a woman in 2017 in Faridabad. His son alleged in the complaint that Satish took the extreme step after being mentally harassed by police during questioning and after being threatened with arrest. He alleged that his father went to the police station at 10.30am and was let go after 6pm. Satish was told he would be arrested on Monday. He cooperated with the investigation and was allowed to leave.”The case pertains to the incident in which the two people died of electrocution after a tree beneath a high-tension electricity line became electrified. Four-five children were playing underneath the tree during the time.Police earlier filed an untraced report in the case. However, the complainant challenged the investigation before a court, which ordered a reinvestigation. The victims’ family also approached Haryana Human Rights Commission.During the fresh probe, police sought details from Power Grid Corporation to determine responsibility for maintaining the high-tension line, a police officer said. The department identified Satish — the senior technician — as the official responsible for the area, following which he was served a notice to join the investigation.Satish was about to retire from service in the next two months. Police conducted the autopsy and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death.
