CHENNAI: With Congress functionaries demanding share in power in the state, chief minister M K Stalin ruled out the possibility of share in power. However, the DMK will continue its alliance with the Congress for the upcoming assembly election.“Share in power will not suit Tamil Nadu. Both the Congress and the DMK knew about it. Some are trying to create a divide between the two parties but we are not bothered,” Stalin said at a private event in Chennai organized by a media house.Describing the relationship between him and Rahul Gandhi, Stalin said apart from politics he shared a cordial relationship with Rahul. “Rahul sees me like his brother. We share a lot apart from politics ,” Stalin said.Speaking about the DMK-Congress relationship, Stalin said the relationship is strong. “Some are trying to break the alliance, but it will not happen. We will face the 2026 election together,” Stalin said.Responding to Stalin’s remarks, TNCC president K Selvaperunthagai said both Rahul Gandhi and Stalin will together take a “good decision” on the issue of share in power.The Congress had been pressing for share in power. Even Congress leadership in the state including Selvaperunthagai and AICC in-charge for TN Girish Chodankar had spoken in favour of share in power.
