Pune: Veteran politician and NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar was on Monday evening admitted to a private hospital in the city with chest congestion. Doctors in the hospital said Pawar’s condition is stable.The 85-year-old Rajya Sabha member was accompanied by wife Pratibha Pawar, daughter Supriya Sule, son-in-law Sadanand Sule and grandnephew Rohit Pawar to Ruby Hall Clinic around 4pm. The hospital in a statement said Pawar might be kept under observation for a day.“Sharad Pawar’s condition is stable. His preliminary examination is complete. Since his oxygen levels and heart rate are normal, there is no cause for concern at present. He experienced fatigue because of continuous travel and engagements over the past few days,” said Dr Abhijeet Lodha, who is treating him in the hospital.Supriya tweeted, “Baba developed chest congestion and will need a five-day course of antibiotics. Fortunately, all other vital parameters are normal. Thank you all for your good wishes and constant support.” tnn
