Gandhinagar: Over the past three days, more than 16.35 lakh students across the state were enrolled in schools under Shala Praveshotsav, the govt’s annual school enrolment drive.From June 23 to 25, the campaign covered 25,625 villages and 37,211 schools across the state.Speaking at an event on the final day, chief minister Bhupendra Patel said that the goal of conducting the drive is to ensure 100% enrolment of all students and 0% dropout at all levels of schooling.

The CM took part in the drive at two schools in the Sanand area of Ahmedabad district on Thursday. He urged parents to make their children’s education and future a priority alongside their financial well-being.The CM said that the image of govt schools in the state has changed so dramatically that admissions now often require recommendations, which he described as a major achievement of the education policy.
