Panaji: Seven panchayats–Shiroda, Revora, Nerul, Azossim–Mandur, Borim, Sarzora, and Dharbandora–will be honoured on Independence Day for meeting the goals of the TB-Free India campaign.Of these, Shiroda earned gold status, while the others secured silver status under the initiative.The TB-Free Panchayat initiative, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed to speed up the elimination of tuberculosis through active involvement of panchayats and local self-governing bodies.Last year, 87 panchayats in Goa qualified by meeting all six required criteria, with 78 attaining Bronze status.
