Pune: Marathi Bandhkam Vyavsayik Association, a builders’ organisation, has demanded that a property registration facility (an independent sub-registrar’s office) should be established at PMC headquarters in Shivajinagar.According to a memorandum submitted by the association, the transfer of properties against reservations, transferable development rights (TDR) or in-situ floor space index (FSI), along with various registered agreements, must be executed by builders, developers and property owners.“The initiative would not only help developers but also citizens. Even the civic administration would be able to speed up its processes that required registration,” said Nitin Deshpande, MBVA president.According to Deshpande, Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps (IGR), who heads the Registration and Stamps Department, has been taking a number of initiatives, including high-tech offices and enhancing the ease of doing business, among others. A dedicated office at PMC headquarters could be one such initiative, he said, adding that it would promote their agenda of user-friendly services.The association has submitted a letter to PMC outlining its demand. “The demand was being considered by PMC. The civic body would initiate correspondence with the department concerned. The feasibility of the demand and its utility would be examined accordingly,” said a senior official from PMC’s building permission department.
