Patna: Srinivas Lewis (47), a law graduate with multiple criminal cases lodged in Bihar, was arrested on Monday for allegedly threatening to bomb the Patna civil court, Patna high court, and other courts across Bihar and Jharkhand, as well as airports, educational institutions and trains. The accused was nabbed by the Delhi Cyber Police from Mysore Vrindavan Layout in Karnataka.According to officials, the accused has as many as 50 cases registered against him in Patna and other parts of Bihar.Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma said a team of three officers — a inspector (who is leading the team) and two sub-inspectors — has already been sent to Delhi for interrogation in connection with all the cases related to the accused. “Since there have been many cases across Delhi and all over the country, we will place our demand accordingly, and once that comes through, he will be brought to Patna on transit remand,” he added.Regarding cases in Patna, SSP Sharma said a total of 14 cases of this nature have been registered since last year. “He has accepted his involvement in six of them,” the SSP said. “For the rest, we will see what comes out during interrogation,” he added. The SSP further said the accused claimed some issues with studies, a lawyer and cited two-three other reasons, but nothing credible has emerged so far as a specific motive behind sending such bomb threats.Patna courts have been repeatedly targeted by such hoax bomb threats in recent months. The Patna civil court alone has received multiple email threats since Jan 2026, forcing evacuations and disrupted judicial proceedings. The court premises faced at least eight such threats since last year, causing panic among judges, lawyers, litigants and staff. Similar threats were also reported in other district courts.
