Chennai: Former DMK minister V Senthilbalaji on Tuesday appeared before the CBI in Delhi for questioning over the Karur stampede case. According to CBI sources, the interrogation went for more than six hours. Senthilbalaji was asked to share information about the sequence of events leading to the stampede and its aftermath. He was also asked about the allegations levelled against him. CBI sources said Senthil Balaji has not been summoned again. This was the first time that Senthilbalaji was being questioned by the CBI. Earlier, when CBI sent the summon via post, his family refused to accept it. The CBI then sent another summon through his official email. Since there was no response, another summon was sent. Senthilbalaji’s questioning comes two days after TVK president Vijay appeared before the CBI on March 15 for inquiry related to the same case.
