Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers at Yeshwantpur Railway Station, Bengaluru, hand over a recovered black bag containing cash and valuables worth about Rs 3 lakh to a senior couple after it was traced from Hyderabad via Vande Bharat Express security and CCTV checks.

Bengaluru: Quick response by security teams at Yeshwantpur railway station helped an elderly couple get back their bag which had valuables worth over Rs 3 lakh. The recovery from Hyderabad was triggered after Railway Protection Force (RPF) received a Rail Madad complaint from a woman Saturday afternoon about a black-coloured bag left behind on Vande Bharat Express. The bag contained two Rado watches, valued at Rs 1 lakh each, a gold ring weighing 4.3 grams, valued at approximately Rs 60,000, house keys and Rs 70,000 in cash.In the complaint, the woman said her parents had travelled by Kacheguda-Yeshwantpur Vande Bharat in an executive coach and had inadvertently left the bag near the seat while deboarding at Yeshwantpur railway station. However, the train had already left Bengaluru for Hyderabad by the time RPF was alerted. A team of five officers, led by two RPF inspectors, got in touch with the coaching depot officer at Kacheguda station. “We requested verification of CCTV footage of the coach in which the passengers travelled and noticed the bag behind the seat,” an RPF officer said. The officers contacted the carriage and wagon team who later coordinated to secure the bag from the coaching depot. It was sent from Hyderabad to Yeshwantpur through the same Vande Bharat the next day.The woman produced her journey ticket and Rail Madad complaint reference for verification and got back her bag.
