Udupi: After a series of hoax bomb threat emails over the past week, security has been stepped up at the Udupi district court following discussions with the principal district judge and members of the Bar.Measures are aimed at ensuring no disruption to court proceedings, said SP Hariram Shankar. “Routine anti-sabotage inspections will continue every morning as a precautionary measure,” he addedOn the investigation into the hoax emails, the SP said the threats were not limited to Udupi and that similar emails had been sent to courts in other districts. “The accused have concealed their real identities while sending these emails. As a temporary measure, we have strengthened security at the Udupi court,” he said.The SP said the Udupi courts have received four bomb threat emails so far. Cases have been registered based on two of the emails, and an investigation is on. “We are actively working to identify those responsible and solve the case,” he added.
