Uri, Sep 3: SDM Uri Prince Kumar on Thursday visited Chorkhud, a remote area of Boniyar tehsil, where a medical camp was organised under the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) for TB screening and other health check-ups.
A team of doctors and health staff from PHC Boniyar conducted the camp with the Chief Medical Officer, BMO Boniyar and BMO Tangmarg. The area has a seasonal Dhok where villagers stay during summer with their livestock for grazing.
During the visit, the SDM also visited the seasonal school, interacted with the students and teachers, and spoke to local villagers about their day-to-day issues and requirements.
The SDM appreciated the efforts of the doctors and staff of PHC Boniyar for taking healthcare services to this remote area and providing essential services to the people at their doorstep.
