Koraput: All govt, aided and private schools and anganwadi centres in Malkangiri district have beeen shut from Sept 23 to 25 in view of IMD’s forecast of strong winds, heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning.Collector (Malkangiri) Prathamesh Aravind Rajeshirke issued the order on Tuesday declaring the three-day closure as a precautionary measure citing the safety of children amid the adverse weather forecast and rainfall already reported in the district.The order applies to institutions under the school and mass education department as well as ST and SC development department, besides aided and private schools and anganwadi centres.Collector clarified that despite the closure for students, headmasters, headmistresses, teachers, anganwadi workers and other staff of the institutions will continue to remain present at their respective institutions. The district administration has directed all block education officers, welfare extension officers and heads of educational institutions to ensure compliance with the order.
