NEW DELHI: CJP spokesperson Saurav Das on Tuesday accused the Delhi Police of allegedly trying to build an “anti-national” narrative around people associated with the protests, claiming that artificial intelligence, deepfakes and doctored chats were being used as part of the purported investigation.In a post on X, Das said he had been “reliably informed” by people in the establishment that the Delhi Police was continuing to investigate the group and attempting to link it to an “anti-national” narrative.“We have been reliably informed by friends in the establishment that the Delhi Police is still busy trying to investigate us and somehow fit us into a cooked-up “anti-national” story. We are told this impossible feat of creative writing now requires deepfakes, AI, doctored chats and god knows what else, all of course at the taxpayer’s expense. Quite an expensive writers room I must say.”“A gentle reminder to Delhi Police: the protesters have been granted permanent immunity in matters relating to the protests. And even otherwise, writing fiction is not part of the Police Manual. You are not going to get the Booker Prize or Nobel Prize for Literature. So please stop wasting everyone’s time and public money. Instead, go investigate the PG Mafia, Hospital Mafia, and Education Mafia in Delhi,” the CJP spokesperson said in the post.“The Delhi Police may also wish to refresh its memory about what happened when certain BRUTAL directions issued by Amit Shah to the Home Secretary and the then Police Commissioner were flat out refused by the two to be implemented, as a consequence of which its Commissioner was removed barely three-four days before the Parliament March,” he added further.“In any case, why go through all this jugaad? If Delhi Police has any questions about us, the protests, the Supreme Court judgment, please call all three of us, me, Dipke, Ashutosh anytime. We will happily come together to the new Police Commissioner’s office and subject ourselves to unlimited questioning. No deepfakes will be required then. Originals will come,” Das said.He also alleged that the purported use of deepfakes, AI and edited chats was being funded with taxpayers’ money. He also called on the Delhi Police to investigate what he described as the “PG Mafia, Hospital Mafia, and Education Mafia” in the capital instead.Das further referred to alleged directions issued by Union home minister Amit Shah to the Home Secretary and the then Delhi Police commissioner, claiming that the two officials had refused to implement them and that the commissioner was subsequently removed days before the Parliament March.He did not provide details of the alleged investigation or the sources on which his claims were based in the post.Das also offered to appear before the Delhi Police along with CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and co-convener Ashutosh Ranka if the force had questions about the protests or the Supreme Court judgment.“If Delhi Police has any questions about us, the protests, the Supreme Court judgment, please call all three of us, me, Dipke, Ashutosh anytime.
