Jaipur: Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University Friday cancelled the PGDCA examination conducted at MD PG College, Lalsot, Friday after a surprise inspection uncovered alleged mass cheating at the centre.University officials said the examination centre, operated by a private college, is likely to lose its affiliation from the next academic session, though formal action is yet to be initiated. The university has appointed Jagdish Prasad Sharma, acting principal of Govt Sanskrit College, Talabgaon, as Special Observer for the remaining examinations from Aug 8 to 11. He will supervise the examination process and submit a report to the controller of examinations, while the college administration has been stripped of its role in conducting the remaining exams.The action followed a surprise inspection Friday during the second shift of the PGDCA examination by university flying squad members Shastri Kosalendradas and Devendra Kumar. The team found that examinees were allegedly being provided with printed answer sheets by the college authorities to facilitate mass copying.The flying squad seized the cheating material and submitted evidence, including a voice recording related to the incident, to the university’s examination department.Acting on the inspection report, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Madanmohan Jha directed the examination department to initiate action. Controller of Examinations Shambhu Kumar Jha subsequently ordered cancellation of the PGDCA examination.“No compromise regarding the sanctity and quality of Sanskrit University examinations will be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against mass cheating, unfair means, or any act that compromises exam fairness. Immediate action has already been taken against the private college that facilitated mass cheating. Further measures, including the revocation of affiliation and legal proceedings, will follow,” said the vice-chancellor.He also appealed to affiliated colleges and students to uphold the integrity of the examination system and strictly follow university rules.
