Jaipur: The state govt Wednesday transferred 65 IAS officers in a major administrative reshuffle, which included appointments of 25 district collectors. This marks the second bureaucratic reshuffle in a span of just 12 days.In key changes, Sandesh Nayak, special secretary to the chief minister, has been appointed Jaipur district collector. He replaces Jitendra Kumar Soni, who has been moved to the Chief Minister’s Office as secretary to the CM, with additional charge of the Department of Information and Public Relations.Chinmayee Gopal, who was serving as the Agriculture and Panchayati Raj commissioner, has been made the collector of Barmer. He takes over from Tina Dabi, who was moved to Tonk as the new district collector.Other significant transfers include Ashish Modi, who was posted as director of social justice and empowerment, and has now been moved to Sikar as its new collector.Nishant Jain, previously secretary of the Jaipur Development Authority, who will now serve as the collector of Bikaner.Sikar collector Mukul Sharma, meanwhile, has been shifted as special secretary to the CM, while Deeg collector Utsav Kaushal and finance department joint secretary Amita Sharma have been appointed joint secretaries to the CM.Three junior IAS officers — Ria Dabi, Rajat Yadav and Akshat Kumar Singh — have been posted as officers on special duty to the CM.Some of these transfers are being seen as part of the govt’s response to reports of friction between officers and public representatives. Pratapgarh collector Anjali Rajoria and Jaisalmer collector Pratap Singh have been transferred following reports of conflicts with prominent politicians.Rajoria was reported to have had a clash with Udaipur MP Mannalal Rawat in March, while Mukul Sharma was involved in a dispute with forest and environment minister Sanjay Sharma in Dec last year. Pratap Singh faced allegations from the RAS Association concerning misconduct and undue pressure tactics on subordinate staff.In other changes, Joga Ram has been given additional charge of the National Health Mission along with the panchayati raj department. Finance secretary (Budget) Rajan Vishal has been transferred to the Jal Jeevan Mission as mission director.Kanhaiya Lal Swami has been appointed divisional commissioner of Jodhpur, while RIICO managing director Shivangi Swarnkar has been posted as special secretary in the finance department (Budget).Udaipur collector Namit Mehta has been appointed excise commissioner, while Suresh Kumar Ola has been named the new RIICO managing director.
