Patna: Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, who is also the state’s finance minister, on Monday tabled the first supplementary budget worth Rs 57,946.25 crore for the current financial year in the assembly. He also presented the same in the state legislative council.While the discussion on the supplementary budget will take place on July 24 in the state assembly, the related appropriation Bill will also be tabled by him in the House the same day.The overall sum of the first supplementary budget for 2025-26 is Rs 36,169.34 crore under the annual scheme head and another chunk of Rs 21,773.27 crore is under the subhead of establishment and committed expenditure.Of the annual scheme head, Rs 5,876.01 crore is the central share and Rs 11,384.29 crore is the state’s. Besides, the annual sum also includes Rs 18,909.02 crore under the state plan head. The allotment for the central area scheme is Rs 3.63 crore.Earlier, assembly speaker Nand Kishore Yadav appealed to the House members, cutting across the treasury and opposition benches, to go for an introspection and assessment of the achievements made in the House in the last five years, as the current monsoon session would be the last of the 17th House. The 18th House will be constituted after the coming assembly elections. He also said that House members should rise above the party differences to promote public interest.
