In an ambitious move to promote sustainable tourism, Bihar’s Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary unveiled eco-tourism initiatives at Dhol Pahadi and Uchcheshwar Nath Dham in the Munger district. The impressive Rs 1,249 crore investment aims to modernize Dhol Pahadi into a vibrant tourism hub, featuring upgraded amenities and a majestic Shiv statue.

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Sunday laid foundation stones for eco-tourism projects at Dhol Pahadi in Asarganj block and Uchcheshwar Nath Dham in Devghara village under Tetiya Bamber block in Munger district.Officials presented site plans and layouts to Samrat, who also offered prayers at the Maa Durga temple at Dhol Pahadi for peace and prosperity in the state.According to the chief minister’s office, Dhol Pahadi will be developed as a modern eco-tourism hub under a Rs 1,249 crore plan approved by the environment, forest and climate change department. The project includes pathways, drinking water facilities, security arrangements, expansion of green areas, roads, staircases, parking and an entrance gate, along with a large Shiv statue. The site, known for its greenery and hilltop views, attracts visitors and holds religious importance due to an ancient Shiv temple that draws devotees during Shrawan.At Uchcheshwar Nath Dham, a Rs 26 crore eco-tourism plan has been approved. The temple, located atop a hill amid forests, is regarded as a sacred Shiv shrine and attracts large numbers of devotees during Mahashivratri and Shrawan. The govt said improved facilities would boost tourism and create employment in the region.After the events, Samrat held roadshows in Baijalpur, Lakhanpur, Tarapur and nearby areas, where residents welcomed him with sweets, drum beats, fireworks and flower showers during his visit to his home constituency.
